How Non-Profit Content Marketing Became a Year-Long Internal Win
How Non-Profit Content Marketing Became a Year-Long Internal Win We usually look at blogging and content marketing as an external benefit. It brings in traffic, creates our platform, establishes our expertise, and hopefully generates leads. But we cant forget: blogging isà for the writerà as much as it is for the reader. I hadnt considered how that would also apply to a team, and not just the individual. I was surprised to learn how non-profit content marketing could benefit an organization internally. I spoke with Scott from the North Dakota Interagency Program for Assistive Technologyà (NDIPAT), a non-profit organization that matches people with disabilities with technology that can help them live life independently. Recently, their entire team took on the challenge of executing a content marketing plan for a year. How did that year turn out? I sat down with him and asked him about their journey, and their progress. Julie: Was it difficult to get your team to blog? Scott: Not really. We all knew the importance of blogging. Plus wed been doing a newsletter for a long time ââ¬â bi-monthly over ten years ââ¬â so this was a natural transition for us. Blogging lets us get more content out more regularly. The biggest challenge is that we have five bloggers spread out in two geographic locations. We dont really have a difficult time coming up with ideas. Narrowing down ideas is where its hard. Were trying to get the right content mix for the blog. Julie: What have you seen happen with your team as you worked on blogging together? Scott: From our standpoint, blogging provides a way for us to research topics, and understand things better.à It gives us an internal resource to go back to for reference. One person does the work of researching and writing a post, and we all benefit from it. Our entire team is building a great resource to use. Our blog is right up at the top, now. Weve been holding steady with our content. Julie: What are the success youre seeing from your blogging? Scott: There have been several instances of people contacting us about something they read on our blog, saying that they didnt know there was a solution for them until they read our blog posts. People have also called us and asked us questions based on blog posts. Were being more proactive as far as assistive technology within the state, in terms of how were blogging. One state does a podcast that they are known for, but their blogging is lessening. Our blog is right up at the top, now. Weve been holding steady with our content. SEO is important, too, and consistently our blog posts are up at the top on general key terms in the assistive technology field. Hitting the first or second page within a few days of a post going live is a big deal, I think. It means Google is coming back often if its appearing that soon. Hitting the first or second page within a few days of a post going live is a big deal. Julie: Do you ever consider not blogging any more? Scott: Weve never thought about stopping blogging, though weve changed our frequency, from three posts to two posts per week, due to staff changes. I dont know if well go back to three, but weve never considered ending our blogging. Its not an option. When we started, we were going to do a year for sure, and now that weve done that, and written over 100 posts, were going to keep going. Its just too valuable to stop, especially internally. It really is. Its almost like continuing education for you and your staff. Each writer has to do the research and writing, and then let the rest of staff read it. Its a professional growth piece for our staff, each time they write a blog post. With our field the way it is, our research happens online. Thats where the information is at, and its vastââ¬âno one has the same disability and needs. Individuals are unique, so finding a solution is unique. Thats why finding information and being able to share it is important. We can cover topics from so many angles for a larger audience.

The Metamorphosis by Frank Kafka Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The Metamorphosis by Frank Kafka - Essay Example In addition to this, there is one theme that makes up a major part of this story. In various part of the story, Kafka expresses his believe that Gregor's metamorphosis is a symbolic one rather than a physical one. By giving the story the title metamorphosis, the readers of this story are more likely to expect or believe that Gregor had turned into a real scary creature. However, Kafka expresses his view that Gregor's metamorphosis is a symbolic one rather than a physical one through various texts in the story, each of which explains the theme in various contexts. At the beginning of the story, Kafka explains how Gregor wakes up one day to find that he has turned into monstrous insect-like creature and this makes his family to run away from him (Kafka 539). The running away is an indication that the family was seeing a totally new and terrifying creature of what used to be one of them. This is also noted when Gregor examines himself and wonders what has happened of him. However, there is something about his transformation that makes Kafka to believe that it Gregor has not turned to a real vermin. Instead, he has become a vermin in psychological or moral sense. Kafka states that when Gregor realised he had changed, he does not seem to readily accept his new look. He fights with his new reality and how much it has incapacitated him and questions how such changes could occur. He does his best to get out of bed and go to work because he still has the will power to go. However, he could not manage and finally, he resorts to lying back hoping that taking some time and thinking clearly will resolve the situation (Kafka 540). The will power that Gregor displays is an indication that his transformation was not a physical one. ... The will power that Gregor displays is an indication that his transformation was not a physical one. He could not have really wanted to go and mix with normal human beings if he himself had turned into something strange. The transformations where therefore internal and Gregor was seeing the possibilities of him fighting to live amongst people and work despite the changes that have taken place in his life. He was also seeing he possibilities of being restored to his previous sound state. In other words, there was a possible intervention to it. No such interventions could be possible if Gregor had turned to a real terrifying creature. In another place, Gregor says, ââ¬Å"How about going back to sleep for a few minutes and forgetting all this nonsense.â⬠By terming the transformations as nonsense, Gregor was in essence indicating that he was he was experiencing some unhealthy changes in his thoughts. This is also supported by his decision to resolve to some clear thinking as a way out of this problem. For a normal human being, it does not sound realistic for one to wish away some physical changes that have taken place in oneââ¬â¢s life because no amount of wishing can take them away. However, some psychological or moral disturbances or abnormalities can be resolved by taking time to rest, going through counseling, psychological therapy and other forms of rehabilitations. When Gregorââ¬â¢s situation grew worse, he became unbearable to his family and some of them even saw him as a threat to them. For example, his father throws some apples on him when he met him outside. This is the monster in him that Kafka implies and is an indication that the changes in his thoughts had now made him wild or too absurd in his behaviors. These are characteristics of persons suffering

The first research question was to identify the teacherââ¬â¢s as well as schoolsââ¬â¢ characteristics that boost levels of responsibility among the teachers. Researchers hypothesized that those teachers showing a strong will to assume the full responsibility for the learning of all students have positive attitudes, dedication and experience. They also hypothesized that such teachers are found in schools where administrative support is strong. Four Elements of Transformational Leadership Essay Example for Free
Four Elements of Transformational Leadership Essay Organizations emphasize the concept of leadership in training managers or group leaders to propel a team or the organization forward. Within leadership, the effectiveness of the transformational versus transactional leader is often debated. Transactional leadership relies more on a give and take understanding, whereby subordinates have a sense of duty to the leader in exchange for some reward. Transformational leadership, on the other hand, involves a committed relationship between the leader and his followers. In 1985, industrial psychologist Bernard Bass identified and wrote about four basic elements that underlie transformational leadership. Ads by Google Stanford Exec. Business Ethics Essay -- essays research papers
Part I. Case Development à à à à à Working in Human resources can make it very difficult to meet friends at work. Many Human resources professionals avoid being too friendly with employees outside of the department and there are employees who keep their distance from being too friendly with Human resources personnel. à à à à à I did break this rule several years ago when we hired a new employee. This employee and I hit it off immediately and we became very good friends and remain this way today. This friend was an excellent employee. Everyone loved working with her and her assistance was in great demand. à à à à à Several years after meeting this new employee the two of us decided to become roommates. We were both in the market to move and both of us were students working full-time, so we rented an apartment together. Soon after becoming roommates my friend broke-up with her boyfriend of several years and it wasnââ¬â¢t long before that I noticed frequent phone calls to the apartment from a partner at our firm. The partner was her direct supervisor so I found it somewhat strange that he would call her at home so often and at such hours. At the time I chose not to say anything as I did not think it was any of my business. à à à à à As time went on the calls started to get more frequent and on several occasions my friend called the partner, in my presence, very late at night and left him what I believed to be a very personal message and not work-related. Even more interesting was the fact that the partner was married. à à à à à After some consideration I decided to bring up the subject of the calls with my friend. I was merely inquiring as to what was going on between her and this partner. My friend brushed it off and implied that nothing was going on between them. I accepted this at the time and decided to drop the subject for the moment. à à à à à Sometime later I learned that my friend was traveling to London on business with this partner. My suspicions were raised at this point since I knew that employees in my friendââ¬â¢s position did not typically travel on business. I started to get a little concerned at this point. I knew the potential risks involved when a manager is intimately involved with a subordinate. In addition, I knew that the f... ...ships between employees but discourage relationships between managers and direct subordinates. These relationships can be consensual and lead to very positive outcomes but the risk will always be there. Discouragement does not prevent them from happening. Having a simple policy outlining some guidelines and incorporating the topic into management and sensitivity training is a good approach. References Greenwald, J. (2000). The decision that the management should make is to change the advertisement slots, which should focus on more female oriented products or brands in conjunction with the NFL. This will attract, appeal and increase the chance of women watching the NFL league hence: Should the NFL change or alter their current advertisement pattern? Question 3 When decision makers are concerned with making possible actions it is information oriented that a marketing research problem is formed (Malhotraà 2010).
